History Of The Eastern Pike Regional Police Department
The Eastern Pike Regional Police
Department includes the Borough of Matamoras, and the Township of Westfall,
which are located in the extreme eastern end of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Matamoras Borough occupies 448 acres and has 2,312 residents. Westfall
Township occupies 19,456 acres and has 2,430 residents.
The Borough of Matamoras and the Township of Westfall, Pike County, signed a
Regionalization agreement on October 4, 2007 to combine their current police
forces. On January 7, 2008 the new department started servicing the two
communities. This is to be the first regional police department in Pike
County.

The top priority of every member of the Eastern Pike Regional Police
Department is to provide the highest quality of service to the citizens of
Matamoras and Westfall.
We acknowledge the need for maintaining high ethical standards and are
committed to professional standards that ensure us a place of trust and
respect within the community.
The Eastern Pike Regional Police Department is governed by a five member
Police Commission made up of two members of the Matamoras Borough Council
and two members from the Westfall Township Board of Supervisors, as well as,
one member of the community appointed by the other four members.
